Bantwal: Attack on GP member and wife – Police arrest three within hours

Bantwal, Nov 29: Three persons were arrested in connection with the assault on gram panchayat (GP) member and his wife which took place in the morning of Friday, November 29. 

Prasad Belchada Sreepathi and Karthik are the arrested persons. 

The gang of three had forced its way into the residence of GP member Yogeesh Prabhu at Meramajalu, and attacked him and his wife Shobha with sword. The gang escaped after leaving both of them seriously injured. 

Both the injured were admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru.

 

Yogeesh Prabhu, in his complaint to Bantwal rural police station, named the attackers as Prasad Belchada, a rowdy sheeter from Meramajalu, and two of his accomplices. 

Bantwal police circle inspector, T D Nagaraj, and rural sub-inspector, Prasanna, along with other personnel visited the spot and later arrested the miscreants at Kateel.
