Mangaluru City Corporation polls - BJP bags 44 wards, Cong 14, SDPI wins 2

Update

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (AM)

Mangaluru, Nov 14: The BJP is all set to wrest control over the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) council after it crossed the magic number of attaining majority.

BJP bagged 44 wards out of the total 60 wards. While Congress bagged victory in 14 wards, SDPI sprang a surprise by increasing its tally from one to two seats.

Back in 2013 MCC elections, Congress had wrested majority by winning 35 seats. BJP with 20 seats had to remain content in the role of opposition. JD(s) had won two seats, CPI (m) and Independent candidate had won one seat each.

In the previous past seven terms of the council, Congress had won with a majority as many as four times in 1983, 1990, 2002 and 2013. It had formed coalition with support of JD(S) in 1997.

First thing if you are a politician and you are denied a ticket due to infighting in your party and your political opponent gets an upper hand.
What will you do, its a question of your political survival. The same thing happened to Asha D'silva. You win or loose but you need to stay relevant.
And if a 26 year old girl wants to contest on a BJP ticket she has the freedom to do so. Are you meaning to say people should only contest on the party which you support. This means you are undermining democracy and you do not know what democracy basically is. Who are you to allege all this?
Its cheap for you to think this about women. Even Naveen Dsouza of Congress who has won against her may not be even thinking the way you do. He is a good worker and he won. Its simple as that.
Congress lost because of wrong ticket distribution dropping good corporators and other capable candidates just to accomodate "supporters" of their so called "leaders".

I am very happy at the loss of Asha D'Silva, who ditched Congress to join the balatkari party just because she was denied a ticket.
Also Jessel was given money to contest by BJP
    Good both lost.
Rest who won or lost is immaterial because all are corrupt, be it congress, BJP or any party.

Back in 2013 Dakshina Kannada had Congress corporators and MLA only coz of the inner fights in BJP party and bit party split only for this reason they won but assuming this only and being in stupid impression that DK will have Congress rule upcoming also such a stupid joke . Ultimately, it is the duty of ward corporator will work for the community of the ward by executing all the complaints or requests in a timely manner. Only the party’s popularity will not do any good unless the corporator is efficient. Politics is apart from commitments.

Congress is on the verge of facing their final days of existence.
Day by day their popularity if worsening. People have lost confidence in the party all because of week leadership. Sonia must realize that people have literally, refused to accept her leadership and she has to step down from politics by handing over the party help to some strong, efficient, experienced young leader. (not from Gandhi fly). They never learn even when they are facing humiliating defeat.

Crime rate is highest in Kerala because people are literate and they go and file report, not hide the facts and figures like Jhumla party in north indian backward states.

How can Congress win if its fights against its own voters. We the 34 residents of Majila, Mangaloe in Ward 59 have won a consumer court case in District and State forum against Mangalore City Corporation for polluting our well water with sewage water due to defective drainage system. Instead of admitting the grave offence the MCC has preferred appeal by depositing Rs.8 lakhs in National Commission for Consumer redressal. It is unfortunate that an elected body out of the funds belonging to its citizens is utilising the same to fight against them. I request the new BJP party to verify the records and how citizens are suffering against their cause for SWATCH BHARAT.
A similar fight of Gujjarakere residents was suppressed by appealing to State Commission.

BJP got absolute majority, no more excuses. Now we need development all over.
We need smart city implementation at the earliest without further delays.
Drinking water, concrete roads, drainage system, parking, footpaths and widening of roads wherever applicable.

The election results shows that India is secular. One cannot win on the basis of religion or caste but on performance. BJP concretized Mangalore roads and now let it broaden roads specially in Balmatta and Falnir. Congratulations to all winners.

Congress Star campaigner's Tippuramiah and Dineshgundarav's Visit wasted against BJP's local warriors. Credit should go to Vedvyas Kamath and Dr Bharath.

Extra security should be given to Congress leaders in charge of Suitcase ticket allocation. More slaps & Shoe throwing may be on the way in their next Karyakarthas meeting in Kadri office. We request home ministry to provide Z Plus PLus security to Bava.
