Bengaluru: Protests against state, central governments - BJP general secretary lambasts Congress

Bengaluru, Nov 13: "It is ludicrous that the Congress, which plundered the country during the post-independence era and is known to be the most corrupt among the political parties, has been making baseless allegations against Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. This is condemnable," felt MLC and state BJP general secretary, N Ravikumar.

Speaking at a press meet held at the state BJP office on Tuesday, November 12, Ravikumar noted that the Congress leaders held protests against central and state governments on Monday. He noted that leader of the opposition in the assembly, Siddaramaiah, has resorted to hackneyed allegations of the unemployment problem, hike in prices of petrol and diesel, increased number of farmer suicides, India signing Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, among others.

Ravikumar charged Siddaramaiah, duly addressing him as CD Siddaramaiah, and condemning him for making false allegations. He ridiculed Siddaramaiah and Dinesh Gundu Rao to undergo a year's coaching before speaking on issues.

"Siddaramiah has said that the Prime Minister had promised to bring back money stashed away in foreign banks and distribute the same at the rate of Rs 15 lac per family. But Modi never made this promise. If Siddarmaiah wants to assert that the Prime Minister had said so, let him produce video evidence so that we can react to this allegation," he stated. He explained that the Prime Minister had just said when explaining about the amount of money hoarded by Indians elsewhere that if that money is brought back, that would be sufficient to distribute at the rate of Rs 15 lac per family.

"As per a periodical issued by employees provident fund, 1.5 crore new jobs have been created in India every year. But Siddarmaiah clings to baseless allegations. His allegation that the Prime Minister has signed the RCEP agreement is false. Siddaramaiah does not know that Modi walked out of the arrangement as his conscience did not permit it," he explained.

As far as banking is concerned, he recalled that the banking system had become very bad during the time Congress was ruling India. The current policies adopted by the Prime Minister as far as banking is concerned, are receiving high praise from the rest of the world, but the Congress continues to make false allegations, he said.

State BJP spokesperson, Ashwath Narayan, felt that Siddaramaiah has been passing criticism at Modi and union home minister, Amit Shah and making irrelevant allegations against them, as it has become a habit for him. He is doing to cover up differences between original Congressmen and migrant leaders within his party, he added.

BJP media department convener, A H Anand, and joint spokesperson, S Prakash, were present.
