Chitradurga, Nov 10: The scene was not less than any Bollywood or Sandalwood movie, in which the heroine comes running towards her lover, when their love is rejected by her parents and he ties the 'Mangalyasutra' around her neck to make her as his wife. A similar incident took place in the district.

Shepherd boy Arun and Amritha, who has done post-graduation in M A, both residents of Seegehatti village of Hiriyoor taluk of the district, were in love since four years. But the parents of the girl were dead against this relation. They even decided to get her married off to some other boy.

Amritha, who came to know about the plans of her family to get her married off to someone else, informed her lover Arun that she will come running to him on the early morning of the next day and he has to tie 'Mangalyasutra' around her neck immediately. Accordingly, Arun, who is a shepherd tied the Mangalyasutra to Amritha at the grazing ground of his sheep to avoid any mishap of Amritha's parents following her and catching her up.

Arun has also asked his younger brother to shoot the video of him tying the Taali around the neck of Amritha as an evidence that he has got married to her. Arun's younger brother has uploaded the same on Tik Tok App. Now it has gone viral on social media and the electronic and print media got access to it.

Now Arun has approached the police to ask for protection for him as well as his bride Amritha from the family of Amritha.
