Udupi, Nov 3: MLC Ivan D’Souza spoke to the protesters and later it was decided to hold a huge protest on Tuesday, November 5 and a memorandum to be given to competent authority demanding to hold the probe by higher and competent agency, probably CBI.
It is said that Ivan D’Souza will take of the leadership of the protest.

Protest on Fr Mahesh D’Souza death case – Bishop addresses protesters at Shirva
Bishop addressed the protestors and said that the family of deceased Fr Mahesh D’Souza had spoken to superintendent of police (SP) and had said that they did not have any suspicion. But he said the diocese will take a decision on this issue as people are demanding a probe.
Former MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake said that a proper probe should be held in the case and he will stand by the people.
Congress leaders Gafoor and Devi Prasad Shetty also are at the church premises.
Meanwhile SP Nisha James arrived at the spot.
Protestors are still sitting at the venue and are unhappy.
Earlier the meeting of leaders has ended and Kaup circle inspector Mahesh Prasad addressed the gathering.

Protest on Fr Mahesh D’Souza death case – People gather in large numbers at Shirva
A large number of people gathered at Shirva Church premises on Sunday, November 3 demanding justice in Fr Mahesh D’Souza death case.
Bishop of Udupi diocese Dr Gerald Isaac D’Souza arrived at the venue to hold talks with the protesting people and their representatives.
It is remembered that a large gathering had congregated on Saturday evening also with the same intention, Then they were asked to go back homes and come today after the bishop agreed to come to Shirva.
Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon and district BJP president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde also are at the spot. Mattaru was seen speaking to superintendent of police Nisha James.
A meeting of leaders is being held in a school room.
But the people who are turning impatient have threatened to ring church bells if the meeting is delayed and outcome is not conveyed to them.
