Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School holds Deepavali celebration

Mangaluru, Oct 31: Deepavali was celebrated at Lourdes Central School.

Dignitaries Fr Robert D Souza and vice principal Belita Mascarenhas were welcomed with the cheerful claps and the staff and the students were given a warm welcome by the compere Chalita Bhat and
Christina.

The students of class 5 created the divine atmosphere by melodious prayer song ‘This little guiding Light of mine’.

Fr Robert D’Souza and Belita Mascarenhas lit the lamp to inaugurate the Deepavali celebration symbolically.

Gautami of class 8 enlightened the gathering with the importance of the day. The students of class 3 doubled the happiness with beautiful Deepavali songs.

Padmashree Bhat gave an insight about the Deepavali celebration. Once again the Lourdites of class 3 highlighted the meaning of Deepavali in an acrostic manner.

The beautiful skit, the killing of Narakasura, an asura who troubled both God and people was enacted by students of class 4 made the celebration more meaningful. The students of class 5 added more colour to the celebration with their vibrant dance.

The senior students of class 12 put up a humourous skit on water conservation as it is one of the project of CBSE.

Birthday celebration is the part of the Lourdite family .The students celebrating their birthday were wished during the programme.

The programme came to an end with the principal’s message and the school Anthem.

The programme was organized by Rathnakar Acharya, Sunitha and Flavia D’Cunha.

Chalita Bhat and Christina of class 5 compared the programme under the guidance of Shanthi Menezes.
