Mangaluru, Oct 14: Ashvithi Shetty won Best actress in a supporting role for her role in the Kannada movie Ananthu Vs Nurath at the Santhosam South Indian Film Awards 2019, which was held on September 29 at Hyderabad.

Ashvithi received this prestigious award from Shriya Saran and Jayam Ravi.

Ananthu Vs Nusrath is directed by Sudheer Shanbhogue and stars Vinay Rajkumar and Latha Hegde, where Ashvithi played a prominent role along with Ravi Shankar, B Suresh, Naveen D Padil, Guruprasad and Shridhar.

Ashvithi made her debut in Yash and Radhika starrer Mr and Mrs Ramachari and later acted in Kannada movie Suli.

Speaking to daijiworld.com Ashvithi said, "I did expect award for my role in Ananthu Vs Nusrath because of the positive response from the audience for my acting. I felt that am connected to the audience. I want to dedicate this award to my fans, who genuinely supported me and helped me to excel in my career.”

"It is definitely a proud moment to get an award and I am happy to get this from Shriya Sharan and Jayam Ravi. It is a feeling of getting blessed for me.

"This award is an add-on to me to get better and better every time. I always believe in work you get and do it with 100% dedication and stay positive," she said.

Ashvithi hails from Bejai, Mangaluru and is the daughter of Yathiraj Shetty and Nanda Y Shetty. She is the alumni of St Aloysius College and Manipal Institute of Management.
