Mangaluru: Lovers commit suicide in lodge near railway station

Mangaluru, Oct 13: A young couple committed suicide in a lodge near central railway station on Sunday, October 13.

Vishnu (22) studying M Sc in food and nutrition and his girlfriend Greeshma (21) studying physiotherapy in a college in Moodbidri are the deceased.

The couple committed suicide by consuming rat poison in a lodge near central railway station.

Both the deceased persons are from Kasargod in Kerala.

As per preliminary reports, both were in love and there were objections for their marriage as they belonged to different castes.

Mangaluru South police have registered a case.

This is horrendous !! Young lives snuffed out due to the arrogance of parents !! They came from the same community...... Relationship between mixed communities, are a taboo, in Indian culture and society.... But why this ?????

So stupid idea from lovers.because there is objection from parents ,suecide ?What difference it makes now?Now they pained their parents more.when parents dont agree there must be reasons too.then go to registered office and marry,go to a different place and live.This caste system kills many people.They both were studying still.none of them finished.and think of marrying first without a basic for living.How would they live ?did they think first.Why take poison?They must be bold and take life in hand .not simply give off this valueable life throw off.Parents have taken so much trouble to bring them up ,gave education and now ?Pain and sadness will fill their life.children ,dont do this to your parents and your life.Heartfelt sympathy to both familys.
