Most followed world leader: Modi crosses 30 million followers on Instagram

New Delhi, Oct 13 (IANS): After being one of the most followed leaders on Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity has also surged on Instagram, way ahead of other global leaders. Modi is the most followed world leader on this platform with 30 million people following his Instagram account.

On Instagram, he is ahead of US President Donald Trump as well as former US President Barack Obama. Modi is also the only world leader to reach the 30 million followers' milestone.

In September, Modi's Twitter follower count crossed 50 million.

Modi who has been a constant user of the the micro blogging platform ever since his days as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He has off late taken keen interest in sharing photos and videos on Instagram as well.

    Main thing should understand In these accounts most of 60% people doesn't know what is Instagram or Face book or Fake Man.
    Most of these still dont have Internet connection if yes also they are busy in their work, all these people are shows online only in night time or busy working hours 11-4pm .

    with instagramm followers,India will not get any benefits.we want a leader who make India fit, and strong ,create jobs for young people,be little economical.Dont waste money from tax payers .look at poor people.India is full of black money.see that it exists not more.

    don't write off bhakts so easily. Remember it is the so-called blind bhakts who make or unmake a leader in India. For the past 30 years ghulams had always been “blindly” voting for only one party for reasons better known to them. It is the blind bhakts who had been always conscious and “seeing” whom to vote and when. So they are the bhakts who have brought Congress, BJP or the third front to power from time to time. No party in India can come to power without the support of bhakts.

    @John Tauro,mangalore sure bhakts are necessary to everything.during congress time or even today votes were almost bought from innocent people offering money,sarees or alcohol.

    Do you think today or that time too many promises are made ,bhakts believe ,and a illiterate person asks "where should I press my thumb"person who helps him certainly help him where to put.I dont think every vote was a true,person voted with knowing whom he is voting.some have to vote otherwise he should leave his property and go or face torture ,or consequenes..

    Thtas the other side of illiterate people.How did the demonetization happend you know.None of bada bosses stood in line to exchange money..Corruption was in congress times and today too .nothing changed.

    Modi followers are not following Modi for his achievements, Leadership quality or his ability to Govern.

    Modi is followed for wrong reasons, like bringing Indian economy down, for intolerance towards minorities, for orating lies and for bringing poor uneducated Indians fake hope and almost all of his followers are Lazy jobless poor Indians who have nothing worthwhile to do rather following fake, corrupt politicians of low caliber.

    Publicity wise he is number one. But the promises and the ground reality of India is totally devastated. GDP, Economy, Share Market collapse, Industrial growth collapse are the only few of them now since 6 years....!!!!!???? Many will come up in the coming 4 years for sure. Drama and Movies of him will never help Indian economy....!!!!!????? He doesn't even has money to help flood relief and what we can expect.     number of followers does not matter. After all, if there is one thing this country can boast of, it is its population. So even if a large number of us do not endorse Modi's policies, the BJP bhakts are adequate to give him a large following. Xi Jinping will have a larger following though!
