In the meanwhile, there is also change in the timing of the SpiceJet flight that has been resumed. Its flight departs at 5.55 am and reaches New Delhi at 8.55 am. It will leave New Delhi at 8.30 pm and reach Mangaluru at 11.15 pm. This flight will resume operations the next morning.

A Jet Airways flight was serving on this route some months back but after the flight operations were stopped, people had to go to Bengaluru or Mumbai for going to New Delhi. Spicejet, which had begun operations since August 4, had suspended operations for ten days citing passenger shortage and maintenance.

I doubt my self that this type of Mangalore-Delhi route will run. Because Indigo and Spice Jets. Won't get full passengers. And they will stop service after few months. Instead of that if they give one or two stopover especially one in Goa and another in Gujarath, definitely they will get more passengers.

I hope mangalore airport will be serious in better connectivity for international passengers before the airport turns into obsolete. North American passenger jet airways serving better now it is very hard to connect to mangalore

lot of people from coastal belt have to fly to Delhi for clarifications/favours/to take orders etc. this flight will do well...if they can fly it via Nagpur, it may fly full house throughout the year...

Direct flight to New Delhi was first introduced by Air India a few years ago but had to cancel due to shortage of passengers. Recently Spice Jet too had to cancel flights for 10 days due to the same reason. In order to avoid cancellations owing to lack of passengers, it will be better if one these flights operates via Pune and another via Ahmedabad or Surat since a large number of professionals in the twin districts are now working in these cities.

Agreed. Connectivity from Mangaluru to Hubli, Belgaum, Pune and even Mysore is needed since many from the twin districts reside on those cities. If the price is right, there is ample scope for domestic connectivity expansion from Mangaluru.
