Transport minister Savadi apologizes to bus drivers, conductors for delay in salary

Daijiworld Media Network - Chitradurga (SP)

Chitradurga, Oct 8: Karnataka deputy chief minister and transport minister, Laxman Savadi, tendered apology to government bus drivers and conductors for his inability to disburse salaries to them before Dasara festival. He was speaking to media persons during his visit to Muruga Math here to take part in Sharana cultural festival on Monday October 7.

"On the occasion of this festival, we should have paid salaries before the festival. But because of cash crunch faced by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, there has been delay in paying the salaries. The delay was considerable in case of Kalaburagi and Hubballi divisions," the minister explained. On this occasion, he assured that salary of all the staff would be paid on or before October 9 without fail.

At the same time, Savadi, in response to questions raised by reporters, reiterated that chief minister, B S Yediyurappa, happens to be the unquestionable leader of the party and that there is no question of sidelining him in state politics.

Diwali is a five-day-long festival celebrated across the country and by Indian diaspora across the globe. But for the state bus drivers, conductors it is going to be 'Black Diwali' after 'Black Dasara'.

The employees of the state-run MTNL have not got their salaries for two months in a row and those employed with BSNL have not got their September salary.

Central Reserve Police Force personnel are not going to get their monthly “ration allowance” by the Modi government apparently as a result of the economic crisis that the government denies.
CRPF is the largest paramilitary force with over 3 lakh personnel. Each of them is paid a ₹3000 ration allowance along with their monthly salary.

In 2012, Laxman Savadi, C.C. Patil and Krishna Palemar resigned as Karnataka ministers after they were caught watching porn in the assembly while the proceedings were on. Laxman Savadi said that they were watching it for “educational purposes”, to know more about the rave parties. Seven years later, two of them Patil and Savadi are back in the state cabinet.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes tall claims through the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign of providing security to women. It is, in fact, the opposite. The Manusmruti propagating BJP has exposed its true anti-woman character once again.
From bus drivers to CRPF personnel are set to be starved of their monthly “ration allowance” by the Narendra Modi dispensation that swears by national security, apparently because of a cash crunch triggered by the economic crisis that the government denies.

Minister sir, this is one Festival time where people wait for a celebration and budget spending accordingly. Specially Drivers / conductors - I am sure their family members wait to get salary to celebrate this festival. It is criminal on State Govt part to with hold their salary. Has salary for ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs being with held for short of funds reason any time? I doubt it. But salary of teachers, lecturers, now poor drivers and conductors' salaries are delayed.
Whichever party is in power, that does not matter to me, but not paying wages to workers who work and deserve their salary is un-pardonable.
CM should have taken a step to stop payment of all Ministers and used that money to pay salaries of less privileged ones. Your apology does not buy them ration, your a[apology does not buy them new clothes or even a box of sweets. Sad state of administration.
