Kundapur, Sep 28: Minister of Health and Family Welfare, G Sriramulu said on Saturday, September 28 that he will do away in confusion relating to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ayushman scheme and get recruitment of doctors vacant in government hospitals filled directly by the Health department.

He was speaking after inaugurating well-equipped new maternity unit building in the name of late Laxmi Soma Bangera with 150 beds constructed at a cost of Rs six crore by G Shankar Family Trust, Ambalpady.

“Those who donate generously for society are rare these days. People like G Shankar are an example while selfishness is filled everywhere.

“It is the duty of the government to provide suitable facilities when such a well-equipped building is being donated to the government. It will be made as per the request of G Shankar providing all the facilities. G Shankar will be made the president of the Health Trust for hospital’s maintenance and cleanliness and the small administrative cost will be borne by people,” he said.

MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty in his presidential address said that G Shankar has contributed in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Shivamogga in education and health sectors and the donation now in Kundapur is huge. “G Shankar has provided fully fledged building which should be declared by the government as the hospital for mother and child making sure that doctors work here with discipline,” he said.

MLAs B M Sukumar Shetty and Raghupathi Bhat, Shalini Shanker, district panchayat president Dinaker Babu, taluk panchayat president Shamala Kunder, hospital medical officer Dr Robert Rebello, Mattaru Rathnaker Hegde and others were present. Maternity doctor Dr Arathi, Chandra Marakala and Vijay Shanker were felicitated.

Immediate action in case of negligence: “There are complaints that government doctors are not keen to treat hospital patients and take more interest keeping their private clinics. Send me WhatsApp messages in such instances as such doctors will be suspended,” he warned.

“I will direct payment of a salary of Rs 17,000 to nurses except NRHM nurses. Midwifes salary will also be increased. I will think over the payment of Rs 9,000 as salary to Asha workers also,” said the minister.

Srinivas Shetty will be minister soon

“MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty is concerned of ordinary people. He will sure to be the minister in the days to come. He should not lag behind. He should change his life style so that he is in demand,” said minister Sriramulu.
