FM Nirmala Seetharaman assures to look into grievances of Goa barge owners

Panaji, Sep 20: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman, who is down in Goa to chair GST Council meeting, assured the barge owners in the state that their grievances would be looked into.

Goa Barge Owners’ Association’s Acting President Atul Jadhav met Seetharaman on Friday and discussed various issues regarding balance loan payable, GST and financing for repairs of barges and also the difficulties faced by the barge owners.

“Finance minister gave a very patience hearing,” Jadhav said adding that he explained that the loans from Nationalised Banks have come down from Rs 263 crores to Rs 18-19 crores.

Jadhav said that the Finance Minister has assured to look into the difficulties faced by the Barge Owners in Goa.
