Mangaluru hosts bike rally to promote voter list revision awareness

Mangaluru, Jul 18: A massive bike rally was organised in Mangaluru on Saturday as part of a special voter awareness campaign jointly organised by the Election Commission of India, Dakshina Kannada district administration, SVEEP committee, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat and Mangaluru City Corporation.

The rally aimed to create awareness among the public about the ongoing voter list revision and encourage eligible citizens to participate in the electoral process.

Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Darshan H V flagged off the rally by waving the green flag. The rally commenced from the Mangaluru City Corporation premises at Lalbagh and concluded at Kadri Park, spreading the message of voter awareness across the city.

Speaking on the occasion, officials urged citizens to ensure their names are included in the electoral roll and stressed the importance of maintaining an accurate and updated voter list under the Election Commission's campaign theme, "No eligible electors left out, no ineligible person included.

Among those present were Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer Narvade Vinayak Karbhari, Mangaluru City Corporation commissioner Ravichandra Nayak, Mangaluru City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy, Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police Dr Arun K, and other officials.

The awareness initiative was held under the Election Commission's SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) programme, encouraging citizens to participate actively in the democratic process and Vote for Sure.
