Byndoor: Maruti Omni van hurtled down embankment - Stops short of river

Byndoor, Sep 18: A Maruti Omni van moving from near Jadkal bridge in the taluk suddenly went out of control of the driver. The vehicle then rushed towards the river down the steep embankment. At the last moment, however, it stopped just short of plunging into the river.

This incident happened on Tuesday September 17.

Okkachchan (55) from Halkal was driving the vehicle then. The vehicle suffered damages and the driver escaped with minor injuries.
