Mangaluru: Youth jumps from Netravati bridge into river

Mangaluru, Sep 11: One more youth jumped into river Netravati from the bridge in the morning of Wednesday, September 11.

It is learnt that Sadashiva, a resident of Urwa in the city is the person who has jumped into the river.

The youth reportedly parked his bike near the bridge, wrote a letter and then jumped into the river, said sources.

Kankanady police arrived on the spot and investigated. The police informed that the family members of the youth arrived on the spot from where the youth jumped into the river.

    We need to do something to try and stop people from jumping. At Melbourne (Australia) on the WestGate Bridge there is a fence erected which has stopped people from jumping. I am sure we can build something like that to deter someone from jumping. It seems to happen far too regular.

    I still puzzled...man alongwith driver went towards kerala and ask to divert towards mangalore. By looking him many people jumping like in odhissa birds doing mass suicide. Now only left to maintain register...nearby netravathi river. Just pen down name and than jump.

    what people can do with the dismal economy of the country. entrepreneurs, employees and all sundry are killing themselves. few days back a contractor committed suicide.
    and we still chant the same name. Only God save this country.
