Bengaluru: ED summons - Shivakumar appeals against single judge bench order

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Sep 10: Former minister, D K Shivakumar, has filed an appeal in the high court, questioning the judgement of a single judge bench of the high court passed earlier. The bench had dismissed the petition filed by Shivakumar seeking to quash the summons served on him by the enforcement directorate to present himself before it relating to recovery of unaccounted money of Rs 8.69 crore found in his Delhi residence during raid by income tax officials.

The appeal was filed in the division bench of the high court on Monday September 9. Advocate for Shivakumar appeared before the bench as soon as proceedings started on Monday and requested the appeal to be heard urgently. The bench adjourned hearing after informing that the appeal would be taken up on September 11.

The bail application in the case filed by D K Shivakumar in the special court of enforcement directorate at Delhi will be heard on September 13.

The Single Judge bench is the new trend in Karnataka Justice system. If you closely observe Swami Nithynada, Raghaveshwara Bharati Swami in rape and murder of disciples, CM Yedurappa in denotification of land, Janardhan Reddy in Bellary illegal mining ore export and DKS Shivakumar all heard by the single judge bench.

This single bench judgment is just like astrologer reading the horoscope. If the Swamiji is BJP leaned or business tycoon is BJP political fundraiser the judgment is in favor and no evidence. If the person is politically motivated from the opposition then witch hunt.

By considering all the above-mentioned people judgment in the recent history Karnataka High Court seems to be more communalized and leaned to the BJP.

The Chief Justice of India should reconsider this single judgment bench. These verdicts won't be in the interest of the nation-building.

I request the Supreme Court Collegium to consider forming a minimum of the three-judge bench for every case with a balanced team.

Vendetta politics ? But why target only political leaders from the South.
What about BJP being a safe sanctuary for corrupt leaders who have joined them in the recent past from across the country.
What about money laundered in Swiss Banks and names of these account holders are with the Govt.
