Bengaluru, Aug 19: An accident captured by a CCTV camera demonstrated reckless driving which left seven people injured.

The incident took place in front of a hotel in HSR layout in the afternoon on Sunday, August 18. A car swerved off the road and onto the pedestrian path, brutally injuring seven people.

The injured were rushed to hospital by people around.

On inquiry by the HSR Layout traffic police, the drive was in an inebriated state, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Out of the seven injured lot, two are severely injured and the rest have sustained minor injuries. "The car crashed into people crowded in front of a hotel on HSR Layout 7th Phase 14th Cross, some eating while others were waiting for their food," said a traffic police officer.

The accused in the accident identified as Rajendra (30), was arrested and charged under sections 185 (Drunken driving) and 279 (Rash driving) under the Motor Vehicles Act.

    If the driver is drunk he must be booked under attempt murder and if victims die directly Sec 302.

    every vehicle is possible death machine on road. only a person with sane mind and lots of responsibility must be allowed to drive.

    Now the Police will file a case and the case will go to the Court and the hearings will go on and on for another 25 years, by then the Drunken driver will die a natural death due to liver failure!

    This is so true...my uncle went through similar situation in Mangalore few yrs ago when a bus went hitting several pedestrians....and now he has to come to Mangalore all the time to fight the case.

    We have banned items which doesn't disturb health or others. The alcohol, tobacco etc which spoil health of the consumer and society. We always speak righteous things , safeguard of women and children and society. In the interest of poor and society in general any type alcohol should be banned

    Yet lawmakers and a bunch hypocrites of this country aren't in favor of banning alcohol !! despite knowing its repercussions. Even media, NGO is turning blind eyes. But they do have collective problems with hijab, azaan, TT, so called love jihad, slaughtering beef, offering namaz on road that too once in a week.....Mera Bharath Mahan.

    Ban vehicles because they cause accidents. Who are you to say alcohol must be banned? Do all accidents take place because of alcohol? One must drink responsibly. Banning is not the solution.

    we don't know about Indian rules and regulation about this horrible incident suppose this type of incidents happen in gulf country kalas that drunker driver life . any way give to him extreme punishment around 20 years it will helpful to other same like drunk and drive peoples.
