Mangaluru: National level inter-collegiate competition ‘Agnathon’ - An unprecedented success

Mangaluru, Aug 16: A one-day national level inter-collegiate competition was organized by St Agnes PU College, Mangaluru on Friday, August 16 to provide students a platform to showcase their innate talents.

The programme was inaugurated by cine artiste Pruthvi Ambaar in the morning.

The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Stephan Mascarenhas, known by his penname ‘Hemacharya’, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld English Monthly. He lauded the students for their commendable performances and congratulated the winners.

Mount Carmel Central School bagged the overall championship trophy and Govindadas PU College won the runners-up trophy. 

 

In this mega event, students from 18 colleges participated in various competitions and exhibited their innovative talents.

Susan Mendonca welcomed the gathering and Samah Assia proposed the vote of thanks. Naomi Pereira compered the valedictory programme.

Dr Sr Maria Roopa AC, the joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions, Sr Norine D’Souza AC, principal, Sr Janet Sequeira AC, vice principal, Namitha, Olivia Patrao and Mathew Antony, the convenors of the programme and Soumya Hegde, the joint secretary of PTA were present.

Mangaluru, Aug 16: Coastalwood actor Pruthvi Ambar inaugurated national level inter-collegiate competition,'Agnathon 2019' at St Agnes PU College on Friday, August 16.

Addressing the gathering, Pruthvi Ambar said, "These kinds of fest will help you build your talents and creativity. Fests like these makes you to feel confident and perform on stage. If you chose any field, there is tough competition. Excel your creativity in whatever you do. Always get motivated and discover your power. Achieve success in your career to make your parents proud.”

Pruthvi Ambar also unveiled the champions’ trophy for ‘Agnathon 2019’.

Chemistry professor Anisha Frank and Rishitha Picardo compered the event.

Joint secretary Dr Sr Maria Roopa A C, principal Norine D’Souza, vice-principal Janet Sequeira, convenor Namitha N, Olivia Jane Pais and student cabinet president Suzzane and others were present.
