Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Khalifa admired for decision of releasing prisoners on Eid Al Adha

Abu Dhabi, Aug 6: UAE Attorney-General, Dr Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, asserted that President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has decided to release several prisoners including those who are convicted of terrorism and extremism charges. The prisoners would be released on the occasion of Eid Al Adha. This move would showcase Sheikh Khalifa's willingness to give people a second chance so as to reintegrate into the community, after rehabilitation.

"This generous act will give prisoners the inspiration and hope to acquire such pardons and will motivate them to reject destructive ideas and ideologies and become good citizens, to be re-integrated into the Emirati community," said Al Shamsi. The prisoners will be expected to transform themselves into better citizens and contribute in the constructive growth of the society.

On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, Al Shamsi congratulated Sheikh Khalifa, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and rulers of the Emirates and the crown princes.
