Udupi, Jul 27: Udupi district retired soldiers' forum offered tributes to brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives and were martyred in Kargil war and celebrated Kargil Vijay Divas at Ajjarkad war memorial on Friday, July 26.
President of retired soldiers' forum Col A E A Rodrigues said that the country is independent and progressing because of the sacrifices and services of soldiers. “Therefore, every soldier deserves respect. There should only be honour for the sacrifices of soldiers and we should not maintain indifference or wrong impression towards them,” he said.
retired soldiers' cooperative society president Subhas, forum director Mohan Kumar, Naib Subedar S K Mallya, Subedar Ishwar M K, Uday Poojary, Ganapathi Sherigar, Nayar Krishna Acharya, B K Salian, Sadhu Kunder, Udaya Poojary, Ganesh Rao, Raghupathi Rao and Vishwanth were present.
