Gallows for rapist-murderer of minor girl

Bhopal, Jul 11 (IANS): Barely a month after an eight-year-old was enticed away, raped and murdered, a special court here on Thursday sentenced the man convicted of the crime to the gallows.

Special Judge Kumudini Patel pronounced the death penalty on Vishnu Bhambre for the "heinous" crime, a day after convicting him of the crime.

It was on June 8 that the eight-year-old girl left her home in Mandva Basti, under the Kamalanagar police station area, to purchase something but never returned. Her body was found in a drain in the area the next day. Bhambre was arrested the same day.

The police soon filed a 108-page charge sheet in the court and the depositions of 30 witnesses.

Chief Minister Kamal Nath welcomed the stern punishment to the guilty, noting the verdict came just 32 days of the crime taking place.

I fully agree to this verdict.People should at last realize what they do is against human rights, raping a child and killing is against worst thing.Even other rapists too get the same punishment.whether a small child or a elder woman. It is crime.Never thought so fast can a court work.

This law is in the right direction to safeguard the women of India. This is something I appreciate PM Modi government which approved an executive order, or ordinance, that will amend India’s criminal law.
According to the new order will also force police to complete rape investigations within two months and extend maximum sentences for the rape of girls under 16 and women. Using the order allows Modi to bypass parliament. It only needs to be signed by the Indian president to take effect.

    1. Why the same law is not applicable for Kashmiri nomad girls 'Asifa' the eight-year-old girl was kidnapped on January 10 and was raped in captivity in a small village temple, exclusively manned by Ram, after keeping her sedated for four days. She was later bludgeoned to death?
    2. Why the Court has a separate set of law even though the rape victims age is below 12 years?
    3. Why the Court has not considered the new 'Posco amendment' while passing the verdict, giving life sentence for three, five years imprisonment for other three and main conspirator Sanji Ram, the mastermind and caretaker of the 'devasthanam' (temple) where the crime took place in January last year his son acquited?

Lastly, The BJP should shun RSS Guruji Savarkar proponent of the 'rape' pictures hanging next to Mahatma Gandhi in the parliament.

POCSO act amendments was passed by Modi govt last year. It imposes death penalty for rape of kids under 12.

Its a shame you are bringing politics in a judicial judgement.

If you had been reading newspapers you would have realised the first time death penalty was given for child rape was in May 2018 in Madhya Pradesh.
