Mumbai, Oct 1: Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he suffered a knee injury after slipping and falling during the shoot of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18.

The latest episode of the SonyLIV quiz show began on a different note as Bachchan, known for delivering his opening monologue while standing at the centre of the stage, remained seated.

“Usually, I do my monologue standing at the centre, but today, I have a knee injury,” Bachchan told the audience.

The actor explained that he had slipped and fallen during the previous day's shoot, injuring his left knee. His revelation left members of the studio audience concerned, with several reacting with surprise.

Bachchan, however, assured them that the injury was not serious. He said he would stand when required while hosting the contestants but was experiencing some difficulty standing up during the opening segment.

The audience wished the veteran actor a speedy recovery.

In a recent blog post dated September 25 and 26, Bachchan also reflected on the idea of “surviving” and what the next generation may inherit.

Meanwhile, Bachchan has several projects lined up. He will next be seen in Section 84, a courtroom drama directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, which also stars Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur and Abhishek Banerjee.

He will also reprise his role as Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, alongside Prabhas and Kamal Haasan.
