Gold worth Rs 4.37 lac seized at Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru, Jun 12: Customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport here seized foreign origin gold in powder and paste form of 24 carat quality weighing 131.7 grams on Tuesday, June 11.

The value of the seized gold is estimated to be around Rs 4.37 lac.

 

The passenger, who arrived from Dubai by Air India Exp flight IX384, had concealed the gold in hem of ankle of jeans worn by him.

    May be he had this gold in hand bag and then went to toilet to conceal it, otherwise Dubai body metal x ray detector will trigger a alert. now I know why many people rush to toilet often..

    This needs to be investigated, Why would someone carry Gold at this Airport when everyone knows about the customs here. there should be a big Scam going on...

    Adani's takeover is restricted to management, maintenance and security of the airport premises; not customs and immigration affairs which are handled by Central Govt. officials.
