Mangaluru, May 14: The police teams which have been investigating the gruesome murder of Shreemathi Shetty, owner of an electrical repair shop in the city, have taken some suspected persons into custody for questioning. The police said that they have now got some important clues in the case.

The police have questioned Shreemathi's current husband, Sudeep, who is an under-trial prisoner. Sudeep faces several cases of theft in various police stations in the city. As the relationship between the two had turned sour, Shreemathi was trying to get a divorce. Sudeep was questioned as there was information that he was threatening his wife, the police personnel stated.

The police have found from the CCTV footages that Shreemathi who usually went in her car to her electrical repair shop near KMC Attavar, used her scooter on Saturday morning. Instead of going to shop, she went towards Gorigudda from Attavar. She also passed from in front of Roshni Nilaya, reached Valencia Circle, turned right, and moved towards Gorigudda. The police believe the woman they see in the footage wearing black top and white trousers must be Shreemathi. The police also think that Shreemathi's killer would have used her scooter to scatter the pieces of her body after butchering her.
