Mangaluru, May 12: In a murder that shocked the city on Sunday May 12, woman's body was found chopped and dumped in two separate spots in gunny bags near Kadri Park and near Nandigudda graveyard.

Though the identity of the deceased was initially not known, the police later identified her as Shreemathi Shetty, a resident of Amar Alva road. She was around 35 to 40 years old.

Police sources said that preliminary enquiry suggests personal enmity was behind the murder. Three squads have been formed to trace the culprits. Detailed investigation will be done, informed police.

Shreemathi was a divorcee. Her former husband is in judicial custody in a theft case in Mangaluru south police station.

Mangaluru May 12: Police found an unidentified body of a woman, suspected to be murdered, in a gunny bag alongside a petty shop near Kadri Park and near the burial ground at Nandigudda on Sunday, May 12.

The shop owner near Kadri Park, who came to open his business in the morning, saw the mortal remains, reportedly chopped into pieces and stuffed into a gunny bag, and informed the Kadri police. Soon after receiving the information, police personnel reached the spot and undertook investigation.

The head of the body was found inside a helmet separately while a few other chopped parts of the body were found in the gunny bag.

Another few chopped parts of the body were found near Nandigudda graveyard. A burkha was also found near the chopped remains.

It is suspected that culprits must have brought the body to the burial land in the night.

Pandeshwar police visited the spot and undertook investigation.

A large number locals gathered at the crime scene.

The CCTV installed at a nearby petrol bunk near Kadri Park revealed some details. It shows a man arriving in the night by a Honda Activa scooter and keeping the gunny bag inside the shop.

The body has been sent for the post-mortem examination.

It is gathered that a complaint regarding a missing woman was filed two days ago at Kadri police station. Police is investigating the same.

One who did such ghastly murder and butchering seem to be a devil possessed person and was not in his normal senses.
The culprit to be caught, tied and thrown in crocodile infested river. Imprisonment will not bring any justice. He deserves to be hanged immediately.

Safety for human is lacking and more protection given to cows, cats and dogs than human. Safety issues started prevailing all over India after 2014. Hopefully new govt will reverse this fearful situation and bring back safety and security of human first and then for animals.

.Looks like the intention was to make it public ..there was no attempt to hide the crime ..hence all doubts are pointing at something sinister with deeper intention.
cant rule out a political angle too..hopefully there is a fair investigation.
Women should be careful and should not be overdrawn into emotions ..Learn karate and other forms of self defense..These days ..its difficult to live amongst humans ..everybody is so mean and self centered.
