Bantwal: Two groups clash at Mani following collision between car, two-wheeler

Bantwal, May 13: A fight broke out between two groups following an accident between a car and an Activa two-wheeler at Mani here on the night of Monday May 13.

While one person was injured in the incident, one of the groups attacked the car and damaged it, sources said.

The Activa along with a few other bikes were moving from Perne towards Farangipete, when a Swift car travelling on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway collided with the Activa in front of a bar in Mani. The two sides got into a verbal fight over the accident, and soon the matter escalated.

The people who were riding the two-wheelers allegedly attacked the car. The two sides then got into a brawl resulting in injury to one person. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Puttur.

Vittal police arrived at the spot and took control of the situation. Security has been tightened at the spot. Sources said that both groups belonged to the same community.
