Mangaluru: Booth's last voter breathes his last after voting

Mangaluru, Apr 20: A man from Panela in Pajeeru village near here exercised his franchise as the last voter of the day at his polling booth on Thursday April 18. Immediately after reaching home, he passed away.

Walter D'Souza (40), son of the late Victor D'Souza from Panela had been suffering from kidney-related complications since long. He visited the polling booth located at Panela government primary school at around 6 pm and cast his vote. He was the last voter for the day at the said booth.

As soon as Walter reached his home after voting, he suffered cardiac arrest. He was rushed to a hospital immediately but he did not survive the journey to the hospital.

Walter was unmarried. He has left behind mother, a sister, and three brothers.
