Kundapur: Bike accident victim Deepak succumbs after 18 days in hospital

Kundapur, Apr 18: Deeapk, one of two friends on bike who was hospitalised after sustaining critical injuries when their bike was hit by a tanker at Kakkunje cross, near Haladi on the night of March 30, breathed his last on April 17.

His other friend on the bike, Hardalli Mandalli, near Hunsemakki, Kundapur resident Chetan had died on the spot in the tragic collision between the two vehicles.

Both the friends were employed together in Bengaluru. Chetan had come home a week ago as a ‘Harake Bayalaata’ was held at his residence. The two friends were on their way in their Apache bike from Bidkalkatte to Haladi, at about 8 pm on March 30.

When they were approaching Kakkunje cross, Haladi the tanker approaching from Haladi hit their bike from front. The bike was completely damaged in the impact. Chetan died on the spot. Deepak who was seriously injured was rushed to Manipal hospital with the help of local people. A case was registered in Shankernarayana police station here.
