Mangaluru: Youngster dies after falling off under-construction house

Mangaluru, Apr 15: A young man lost his life after accidentally falling off an under-construction house at Karambar in Bajpe.

The deceased has been identified as Deekshith Raj, son of Malavoor gram panchayat member Lakshman.

The incident happened on the night of Sunday April 14. He passed away on Monday April 15 in a hospital.

 

It is learnt that the family has been constructing a new house at Karambar. On Sunday night, Deekshith climbed to the top of the under-construction house and started water-curing the concrete. While doing so, he slipped and fell off. He was then rushed to hospital, where he passed away after battling for life for a day.

Sources said that Deekshith was involved in BJP's party activities.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Umanath Kotian, district BJP vice-president Ravishankar Mijar and others visited the hospital and expressed condolences.

    It is time that the Municipality.../city introduce a strict Code in Construction with regards to safety. of the Crew working.
    They need to have full gear..hat.. goggles.. Boots. Gloves .
    Proper Scaffolding...Ladders etc etc.
    full Safety equipments.. gear..
    by LAW.
    since lIfe is precious and valuable.
    Must Follow Japanese: European: American safety standards by LAW. to our construction industry..
    No wonder the British standards were so strict with Induction process. and never can anyone enter the site without the complete Gear.
    Hard hat
    Solid boots
    Gloves.
    Goggles
    The uniform
    Please follow the rules
    save precious lives..
