Dynasts not allowed to rewrite court orders: Jaitley

New Delhi, Apr 15 (IANS): In the wake of the Supreme Court's observations, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday slammed Congress President Rahul Gandhi, saying that he had hit a "new low" as he "manufactured" a court order for his political propaganda.

He said that Indian democracy does not permit the "dynasts" to "rewrite" court orders.

Jaitley reacted in a series of tweets hours after the SC observed that Gandhi's comment that it has said "chowkidar chor hai" is wrongly attributed to it and demanded an explanation from him by April 22.

"To manufacture a court order for a political propaganda is a new low for Rahul Gandhi. The lower he sinks, the higher we rise," Jaitley said.

The senior BJP leader said "dynasts" are also subject to the Supreme Court and Indian democracy does not permit them to rewrite Court orders.

"In Rahul Gandhi's politics, the Right to Free Speech includes the Right to Falsehood. Truth holds together. Falsehood falls apart. Rahul Gandhi needs to learn this preliminary lesson of public discourse," he said.

A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Sanjiv Khanna directed the hearing of the matter on April 23.

Seeking a response from the Congress President on his controversial statement, Chief Justice Gogoi clarified that they had only dealt with the admissibility of certain documents related to the Rafale case.

The court order came on a contempt plea by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Meenakshi Lekhi seeking contempt action against Gandhi.

Jaitly Saab, please pay more attention to your deteriorating health conditions.
Too much tension about politics will take heavy toll on your health conditions, which is clearly visible on your face and prevailing physical condition.
There are enough guys to salvage your party from falling.

Jaitleyji, law is same for Indians, whether somebody is a member of a dynasty, or is a common man. You say a dynast is not allowed to re-write court orders - well then, are common people allowed to ? Probably yes and that's why you wasted so many years of Indian courts to prove Rajiv Gandhi's involvement in Bofors but failed. You pocketed millions as payment for fighting the case but proved nothing.

As for Rafale, lets say that SC is right in holding RG answerable for saying 'Chowkidaar chor hai' - how do you defend the SC to prove 'Chowkidaar chor NAHIN hai' ?? Do you have answer to 'why rates agreed by UPA were escalated by Modi Govt ? Do you have how Ambani is qualified for Dassault contract' ? Was the tender published and nobody participated hence Ambani happened to be the only eligible manufacturer ? Nevertheless, how come you did not question a month-old company's qualification to produce the air crafts ? So much you trust in Ambani about building combat units ?

    Please Jaitliji, explain ???

    Jennifer,
Yours is a twisted logic. SC does not have to answer whether the contrary is true.
It is only concerned with the defamatory statement of Rahul Gandhi that he has to answer and is before it.

In that case Mr. Prabhu, how will SC determine who is the Chowkidaar in RG's statement ? He didn't say 'PM Modi Chor hai' - did he ?

The PM doesn't maintain dignity of his position. He becomes 'Chaiwala' 'Chowkidaar' - why all this 'Nautanki' ?? Couldn't he be just PM and behave as one ? Why did he have to gang up with business owners and give them contracts without calling public tenders ? When a person stoops below his dignity, people do make fun. For that matter, SC too did not maintain its dignity to some extent when dossiers were submitted first time by BJP on Rafale. It merely gave the verdict depending on some note stuck to the files. Its the second ruling that SC was much more serious.

I have no answer to the questions raised by you. Read between the lines as I do (if you are able to understand the judgement) or Go and ask the SC.

No one gives any credibility to what Jaitley states. He along with Smirti and Subramanian Swamy are the shouting brigade of the BJP against the Gandhi Family.

The BJP IT cell needs your Counsel Mr Jatley.
