Sidelining senior BJP leaders only achievement of Modi: Shatrughan Sinha at Mudipu

Mangaluru, Apr 14: "Systematic sidelining of leaders like Vajpayee and L K Advani who built the BJP party is the achievement of Narendra Modi," said MP and actor-turned Congress leader Shatrughna Sinha here on Sunday April 14.

Addressing a campaign rally organized by the block Congress at Mudipu here, Sinha said, "Vajapayee, one of the greatest leaders of BJP passed away recently. We all know the condition of senior BJP leaders like Advani and Yashwanth Sinha today. I would have remained in Congress if Indira Gandhi had been alive. I left the party for many reasons. But now seeing a daring and dashing young leader like Rahul Gandhi I am back in Congress. Young peope have high hopes from Rahul-led Congress.

"I have come from Patna to Mudipu of the Mangaluru constituency in South India. Party is greater than an individual, and nation is greater than any party. There is nothing greater than our nation. But the BJP is exactly opposite to this principle," he said.

"A year after Rahul Gandhi assumed charge as the president of AICC, Congress won three states of Rajasthan, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Today our nation needs young leaders like Mithun Rai. If he wins the Lok Sabha election from here, Rahul Gandhi will be our next PM.

"At the centre there is a one-man show and two-man army," he said, taking a dig at PM Modi and BJP president Amit Shah. I believe in secularism and respect all religions. But unfortunately Modi's government does not respect secularism. Democracy is at threat. To save democracy I joined Congress led by Rahul Gandhi which is a secular party.

"Modi in order to promote himself has toured 90 times across the world. They have spent Rs 10,000 crore for election campaigning," he alleged.

Karnataka Congress vice-president Sudhindra Kumar Maroli said that this election is between those who have a face and the faceless. "The BJP has conceded defeat by asking votes in the name of Modi not for their candidate. While campaigning, Modi claimed himself to be a 'chaiwala', then he changed it to fakir and now he is saying he is chowkidar of the nation. It is shameless that a corrupt BJP leader like Janardhana Reddy also considers himself to be a chowkidar."

Minister U T Khader, former MLA Shakuntala Shetty and local Congress leaders were present.

Mangaluru public meet cancelled

Shatrughan Sinha was also scheduled to address a public meet at Kadri in the city. However, the crowds were sparse, and as Sinha arrived very late, people waited for long and ultimately left. The meet was ultimately cancelled and Sinha headed directly to Mudipu from the airport.

A one time follower of hardliner Advaniji is now talking of secularism and respect for all religions. We know he left BJP for not getting a berth in Modi’s cabinet and secondly for sidelining his guru due to which he lost his hold in the party. Can we trust such opportunists?

It is not Shotgun who is blinded.
It is Modi Saab who is blinded by the honor and success people and friends had shown towards him.
When power goes into the mind, rational thinking takes back stage.

    Modi Achievements.

"Modi government has been a failure on all fronts and has inflicted pain and misery on the people through its reckless decisions of demonetisation and hasty imposition of a flawed GST, demonetization and GST disrupted the economy, trade and industry, led to closure of lakhs of factories and tens of millions of workers lost their jobs and livelihood. The unprecedented joblessness, agrarian crisis and distress of farmers and agricultural laborers are issues of grave national concern. The Modi government is guilty of monumental mismanagement of the Indian economy.

No accountability at all for corruption during the last five years. Corruption has become rampant across the country. After the next Govt is formed all the skeletons in the BJP vast array of hidden cupboards will be exposed including the Rafale Scam.

Modi Sarkar Ko Hatao. Desh Ko Bachao. They should be made accountable for over 100 deaths in ATM Ques after the Demoitisation.

No GST for dreaming. Show the proof that more than 100 ppl died for encasing at ATM. Khangress is spreading all lies but even if a lie is told 1000 times it won't become truth.
Now coming to skeleton of BJP rule first you finish counting of skeletons falling from UPA rule of 10 years.
Now wait till May 24th and start abusing EVM /EC from now only as you don't have any other reason to blame the victory of NDA

Hehehehe.....pathetic.....We need strong opposition for a good democracy to work. I hope this joker party of Congress disappears and makes way for a good alternate national level party that can make issue based politics.

Congress-mukt Bharat does not mean Opposition-mukt Bharat. If the dynastic party disappears, an alternate party will be born in the space that can take on BJP and keeps BJP in check ensuring a balance of power. And that is the need of the hour.

I want the following minimum tenets from a new political party
    1. National level party
    2. Issue based politics
    3. Democratic process within the party
    4. No concentration of family members within the party.
    5. Equal opportunity for any grass-root worker to reach any position within the party. (For example, my kids will have a better chance of becoming a PM in BJP than in Congress).

I hope the non BJP voters oust Congress (and all other family political parties) and lay a firm foundation for an alternate to BJP. I hope the voters demand a common minimum requirements for a new political party.
