Karkala, Mar 11: NMAM Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), Nitte celebrated Women’s Day on March 8.
Sangeetha Ferrao, placement officer, St Joseph College of Engineering inaugurated the programme. Dr Veena B K, principal of Dr NSAM First Grade College, Nitte and Dr Rekha Bhandarkar, Head of the Department of Electronics & Communication were present during the programme.
Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, principal, NMAMIT, Nitte presided over the function. In his presidential address, he said, “Women can manage their responsibilities both at home and at her workplace very efficiently. Women are equal to men. So we have to respect them and support them.”
Under the guidance of Prof Veenadevi Shastrimath, professor in the department of E&C and hostel warden, different activities were conducted for the inmates of the hostel during the celebrations.
