Mangaluru: Kanchana Textiles manager's murder - accused arrested after 7 years

Mangaluru, Feb 15: A person, who was named as the main accused in the case pertaining to the murder of Deepak, manager of Kanchana Textiles near Rao and Rao Circle in the city in 2012, was arrested by the city police on Thursday February 14. The person, identified as Mohammed Ashraf alias Achchu (40) from Ullal, had remained elusive till now.

Ashraf was accused of playing the lead role in Deepak's murder. After the murder, the accused had fled and escaped to a foreign country in 2012. After getting information that he was seen in the vicinity often since a month, the anti rowdy squad led by the city (south) sub division assistant police commissioner, arrested him in an operation. He was later handed over to Bunder police station.

Three more accused pertaining to this case have been absconding. As per information, two among them are in Kerala. On the basis of information obtained from the arrested accused, search has been launched for them.
