Mangaluru, Jan 22: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has accused litterateur, Dr Shiva Vishwanathan, of making objectionable and insensitive comments about the soldiers of the country who guard the nation's borders. It said that through his address, Dr Vishwanathan has laid bare his pervert state of mind.

ABVP has termed the action of Dr Shiva Vishwanathan in issuing statements about the soldiers who sacrifice everything for the society and the country as highly objectionable. On behalf of ABVP, a memorandum was submitted to additional deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr Kumar, on Monday January 21, asking him to initiate serious action against Shiva Vishwanathan under the charges of sedition as he has tried to disturb peace and misguide the people.

"Dr Shiva Vishwanathan said that the soldiers who guard the borders of the nation are also instrumental in a large number of rapes in the region. By making this statement in a well-attended meeting, he has tried to bring disrepute to Indian army. How far is he justified in comparing holy India to Pakistan? He was wrong in speaking against the country being a writer. The soldiers risk their lives to protect the nation. ABVP condemns such comments about the army people," ABVP said in the statement.

ABVP leaders also said that Shiva Vishwanathan said that India was created out of violence, and by making statements against the country by staying here, he has been encouraing anti-nationals here, they claimed.
