Mangaluru, Jan 16: A young girl who was conversing on a mobile phone and crying jumped into Netravati River from the bridge, while motorists watched on. The incident took place late in the evening on Wednesday, January 16.
According to eyewitnesees, a couple of motorists stopped the bike at the spot after looking at the girl crying. The girl jumped by the time the men asked if she needed any help.
The girl was about 22 years old and appeared to be wearing a black colour uniform with a hand bag on the shoulders.
It is not clear if she was wearing work uniform or college uniform. A complaint has been lodged at the rural police station.
