Beltangady, Jan 16: Children taken care of at the child welfare centre in Kadirudyavara village in the taluk complained of stomachache on Monday January 14 afternoon. The incident happened sometime after they consumed lunch. They were admitted into the government hospital here and the medical officers said the children are in good health now.

The names of the affected children affected are Ashwini, Chaitra, Pooja, Kavya, Nisha, Swati, Vandan, Navyakala, Pranamya, Bindushree, Trisha, Anushree and Dimple.

The children started suffering from stomachache and nausea long after they consumed food. The doctors said that this might be the result of some deficiency in food. Officials of the department of food visited the centre and conducted inspection.

Taluk health officer, Dr Kalamadhu, said that there is no need to worry as the children have recovered. She said that the samples of the food would be sent to Mysuru for testing.

Lokeshwari Vinachandra, who runs the centre, said that rice and wheat for the centre is supplied by the government. She said that a similar situation was reported from some houses in the vicinity. She therefore felt that chances of sudden change in climate having affected the health of the children cannot be ruled out. She added that the children are now healthy.

Thank God children are now better.Looks but funny what doctor said ,may be some defficiency ?when due to deficiency someone doesnt get stomach ache and get ill.Must be some left rice from previous day added,?or not properly, hygenically lacked.?It is known that rice and food supplied to such centres are not always best ..Hope in future they will take care. Please dont play any foul play with childrens health. They are innocents.
