Udupi, Jan 13: Two police teams led by district police are searching for the missing 'Suvarna Thribhuja' boat and seven fishermen in areas of Ratnagiri and Sindhudurga in Maharashtra and on the coastal area of Goa along with local fishermen and local police.

So far no positive response is received as per the information given by Satish Kunder, president of fishermen association. Udupi SP Laxman Nimbargi has requested the Mumbai SP to collect the information with regard to the wireless message that was heard by some fishermen of Malvan of Sindhudurga region from a ship which said, "Was there any accident of a boat?" A clear cut information with regards to this will also be available in one or two days as per details received from reliable sources.

The fishermen have continued seeking diving intervention also. The fishermen have offered a special pooja to Goddess Matidevi at the Malti Island which is near Malpe port.

Fishing boats which stalled their work after the missing of 'Suvarna Tribhuja' boat are getting back into the sea for deep sea fishing in phases. On the night of Friday, around 5% of the boats have left for deep sea. 20% of the boarts are expected to go for fishing on the night of Saturday, January 12. A team of 26 people from various fishermen organizations is formed to look after the supervision of the search operation of the missing boat and fishermen. This team will work in the search operation till the fishermen and the boat are traced.

Satish Kunder, president of Malpe fishermen association, said, "I have called Dr Jayamala, district in-charge minister and inquired about the state government not contacting ISRO for locating the missing boat through satellite. There is no clarity whether the government has contacted ISRO or not. I will take up this issue with home minister M B Patil."
