Utilisation of chances helped us against England: Belgium team

Bhubaneswar, Dec 15 (IANS): The Belgium team, which stormed into final by beating England 6-0 in the men's hockey World Cup semi-finals here on Saturday, believed utilising most of their chances led to their first ever progress to the final.

"This was pretty perfect game for us. We didn't concede and scored from most of the penalty corners. We scored through penalty corners at vital junctures of the match," said Belgium captain Thomas Briels.

"We really wanted to play. Everybody in the team really worked hard. We are really lucky today as we scored some world class goals. We remained focused during the 60 minutes and that's why we won," he added.

Belgium chief coach Shane Mcleod lauded the efforts of his coaching staff and Belgian hockey authorities for grooming a young crop of hockey players, who have sprung up and are leaving their mark at the biggest level of them all.
