Mangaluru, Dec 14: The Mangaluru premiere of the much-awaited Konkani movie ‘Planning Devachem’ was held at Big Cinemas on Friday, December 14. The film is produced under the banner of Goan Trinity Films.
Msgr Maxim Noronha, Vicar General, Mangaluru Diocese lighted the lamp first and blessed the show.
Walter Nandalike, Founder, Daijiworld Media Group, Rohan Monteiro of Rohan Corporation, Luvi Pinto, president, Mandd Sobhann, Wilson Fernandes from Fernandes Group, Roy Castelino, former president, Konkani Sahitya Academy, Eric Ozario, Gurkar, Mandd Sobhann, attended as the guests of honour for the premiere show.
In his speech, Msgr Maxim Noronha said, “It is a proud moment for Konkani community because a new movie is releasing today. In its Goa release, the movie gained much appreciation and became a blockbuster. We are happy that this movie is screened in our city. Making a movie is an achievement. Lot of hard work is required for it. Movies are the easy way to communicate with the mass and by this we can spread the social values efficiently. I wish all the best for the producer, director and the entire team who have worked for the movie Planning Devachem."
In his speech Eric Ozario said, “In coastal Karnataka Tulu cinema industry has attained a great height. But when it comes to Konkani industry, there is much to be achieved. We have groups within us which do not allow us to grow. But ‘Planning Devachem’ is good step to overcome from that rigid mentality. A Goan producer produced his movie with the direction from a Karnataka-born director. Actors of both states have given their contribution in this movie. It is a good sign for Konkani cine industry."
Producer Severene Fernandes and director Rajesh Fernandes welcomed the guests.
Elias Fernandes, Jason, Wilson, lead actor Tapan Acharya, actress Cicil Rodrigues, Stany Alvares, Rons London and Edward were present.
'Planning Devachem' is directed by Rajesh Fernandes. Konkani and Marathi actor, Tapan Acharya, is the lead actor of this movie. Cicil and Seema Buthello are the heroines. Actors like Eddie Fernandes, Stany Alvares, Prince Jacob, John D'Silva, Rons London and others have donned different roles in the movie. The film is shot in places like Mangaluru, Honnavar, Karwar and Goa. Along with the well-known artistes, new faces from Mangaluru and Goa can be seen in the movie.
Music is composed by Raphael Vinay. N Ramesh Babu is the cinematographer. Editing is done by Shivu. Thriller Manju is in charge of the stunts, while advertisements are handled by Pinto Vamanjoor.
