About Trinity Central School

The foundation stone for the old building which is now called the Bonaventure Block was laid on December 7, 2008 under the leadership of Fr Richard Quadros, the then principal. The building was inaugurated on April 11, 2010 by Dr Aloysious Paul D’Souza, bishop emeritus of Mangaluru. The school started its maiden voyage with only 47 students in LKG, UKG and the first grade with 4 teachers, and an Omni van to ferry students to and fro. Also, as the building block was incomplete, they were operating from Fathima Church Hall, Perampalli for a while. The following year, classes till grade 6 were introduced and then gradually moved forward to include a new grade every year.

Since then, the management has been striving every year to provide state-of-the-art facilities to the students. The school has grown in structure and strength during ten years. The foundation stone for the new building was laid and blessed on February 1, 2014 and the present Brindisi Block was inaugurated on June 16, 2016 by Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, and blessed by Fr Dr Joseph Dolphy Pais, who will be present for the decennial celebrations. Over the course of ten years, the school has the Trinitorium, Assisi Bhavan, the newly renovated Assisi Park, basketball court, new computer labs with 24 N-computing systems, upgraded Chemistry, Physics and Biology laboratories, 40-steel dining tables, generator to provide power all day round, and a playground for children. The school and house uniforms have a new look and the houses have been renamed according to the places where the patron saint was born and lived. The school gate and entrance also has a beautiful appearance. The kindergarten classes have colourful benches and desks, and the list goes on.

New facilities, improvements and infrastructure

· The school now has a fleet of 14 buses to get students to and fro in the quickest possible time.

· The library is equipped with 40 individual desks and chairs plus many new books to encourage and inculcate the habit of reading.

· Teach Next smart classes have been introduced. New roller screens have also been installed in a majority of the class rooms.

· Each floor and some cabins in both the blocks are connected through a system of 34 intercoms for smooth and quick communication.

· The office and parlour has an entirely new and pleasant ambience.

The school populace

At present, the school has 900 students on roll, and to educate them, a team of 45 experienced and dedicated teachers. There are 40 supporting staff, which includes janitors, clerical staff, security, bus drivers and bus assistants.

Academic excellence and intellectual enhancement

Just like the previous three batches, the fourth batch of Class X secured 100% results in the 2018 board examination.

Excellence in academics is the hallmark of any good institution and a tiny acknowledgement is a lot of encouragement. Hence, approximately 185 students were honoured with merit certificates for scoring above 85 - 95% in the previous academic year.

Remedial classes for all students are held every day for 50 minutes.

A bulletin board, which is given to each house, provides an opportunity to the children to express their artistic and written talents in a competitive manner.

Parent-teacher meetings and open house are held after every exam and parents can also meet the teachers on every second and fourth Saturday of the month. These sessions are essential as parents can get a first-hand insight about the child’s progress not only in academics, but also in their overall development, thus creating a healthy rapport between teachers and parents. Exhibitions displaying the various activities done during the term are also showcased and parents are given the opportunity to view the hidden talents of children.

Every Saturday there are various activities held and the child has the option to participate in at least one or more from a choice of drawing, western and classical dance, chess, swimming, karate, taekwondo, skating, music and band. This year, the school has introduced even Carnatic music. Abacus has been introduced into the syllabus for grades 1 to 5. Educational excursions to various interesting places were made to gain hands-on experience and improve knowledge. The students visited a post office, railway station, parks, factories, artisan and heritage villages, botanical gardens and zoo, basilica and chapel, market place, beaches, anatomy museum so on and so forth.

Various cultural and literary competitions were organised to bring out the students’ talents. Important celebrations like Vanamahotsava, Independence Day, Teacher’s Day, Gandhi Jayanthi, Founder’s Day, Kannada Rajyotsava, Children’s Day, Grandparent’s Day, Children and Parent’s Sports Day were held. Children’s Fest will be celebrated on February 9, 2019.

‘Yes, we can achieve’, is the motto that Trinitarians possess within themselves, and the decennial-cum-annual report has shown that the students have achieved a lot indeed. More, no doubt, can still be done as excellence in every field is Trinity Central School’s goal. will bring the live web streaming of the decennial celebration from 4.30 pm onwards on December 15.
