Karkala: Accidental fall into temple pond claims boy's life

Karkala, Nov 23: A nine-year-old boy drowned after accidentally falling into the pond attached to a temple. This tragic incident happened near Lord Venugopalakrishna temple at Kabbinale on Thursday, November 22 evening.

The victim of this incident was Avinash, a third standard student of Amruthabharathi school Hebri. The boy's father, Laxmish Bhardwaj, a resident of Mudrady, happens to be the priest of Kabbinale Lord Venugopalakrishna temple. It is said that the incident happened during the 'Shikhara Deepotsava' festival at the temple.

At around 5.30 pm on Thursday, family members noticed that Avinash was nowhere to be found. They went in search of him, and found his body from the pond attached to the temple.

Hebri police, who rushed to the spot, made inquiries and registered a case of unnatural death.
