Mangaluru Nov 14: "Shiradi Ghat will now open for heavy vehicular movement from 6 am on Thursday November 15," informed district in charge minister U T Khader.

"We have discussed with the deputy commissioner, Sasikaanth Senthil about the efficiency and safety of Shiradi Ghat road. The DC has confirmed that Shiradi Ghat road is capable for heavy vehicular movement."

Shiradi Ghat will not open for heavy vehicular movement from 6 am of November 15.

It was closed for vehicular movement after the recent landslide due to heavy rain. Shiradi Ghat is the main link between Bengaluru and Mangaluru. The stretch was closed for two months. It was opened for light motor vehicles from September 5 and in October all passenger vehicles were allowed to move on this stretch.
