Mangaluru: Fight breaks out between two murder-accused - one arrested

Mangaluru, Nov 13: A fierce fight broke out between Suhail (24) from Kody, Ullal, and Asif alias Aji (22) also from Kody, at a salon at Ulla Kody. Both Suhail and Asif are accused in a case relating to the murder of Raju Kotian, a fisherman, in a macabre fashion in 2016.

In the fight, Suhail stands arrested. He has been accused of stabbing Asif with a knife and trying to kill him. Asif, whose condition is stated to be serious, is currently being treated in a private hospital.

Suhail and Asif had been accused of crushing a fisherman named Raju Kotian to death with a stone when he was proceeding to his workplace for work connected with fishing during the year 2016. This had given rise to lot of tension in Ullal area. A murder and a murder-attempt case had also happened in retaliation to this incident at Ullal.

Both Suhail and Asif are out on bail in the case. There had been differences between the two, it is said. Suhail allegedly had attacked Asif in the past. As an act of revenge, Asif and three others arrived at a salon in Ullal where Suhail was seated there, and launched murderous assault on him with a razor. On this occasion, Suhail tried to murder Asif with a knife. A huge crowd had assembled at the spot. The police, who arrived on time, admitted both of them into hospital.

Suhail, who was later discharged from the hospital, was arrested and produced in the court. In this connection, two murder attempt cases have been filed in Ullal police station.
