Puttur, Nov 9: Melvyn (24), resident of the town, was found lying in an injured state adjacent to the railway tracks at Haradi here on Thursday November 8. He was unconscious and stands admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru.

Melvyn happens to be an auto rickshaw driver by profession. He had gone missing since Wednesday night. After Melvyn was provided preliminary treatment in a private hospital after he was found fallen near the railway tracks, he was shifted to a hospital at Mangaluru. The case now stands transferred to the railway police at Mangaluru.

The railway police, who gathered primary information said that there is the likelihood of Melvyn having been hit by a moving train and that they would investigate the case entirely before reaching a conclusion. Melvyn suffered deep injury to his head and is now in coma. He is now being treated at Fr Muller Hospital Mangaluru.

The auto rickshaw of Melvyn was found near the state highway at Haradi. The railway police will also look into the chances of Melvyn's auto rickshaw having been hired by miscreants who would have attacked him and thrown his body near the railway line. The town police will extend full cooperation in the probe by railway police, the police personnel stated.
