BJP leader apologies to Madras High Court in contempt case

Chennai, Oct 22 (IANS): BJP Secretary H. Raja on Monday tendered an unconditional apology to the Madras High Court in a suo moto contempt case for his derogatory remarks about the judiciary.

The court accepted his apology and closed the contempt case.

Raja said he respects the judiciary and his derogatory remarks were unintentional and made in an agitated frame of mind.

The BJP leader made the remarks during heated arguments with the police in Pudukottai district last month when the Ganesh idol procession was stopped citing court orders against the procession route.
