Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 16: About half of the Karnataka ministers, who contested in the assembly election this time, were defeated. Out of 32 ministers who tried their luck in the election, 16 have bitten dust. Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, could also suffer loss of face but for the timely decision to enter the field in two constituencies. While he was defeated by G T Deve Gowda of JD(S) in Chamundeshwari constituency, he won by a narrow margin over BJP's Sriramulu in Badami constituency.

H C Mahadevappa, considered to be very close to Siddaramaiah, tasted defeat at the hands of Ashwin Kumar of JD(S) by a margin of over 28,000 votes.

I am happy for two things in coastal Karnataka:

    1. Loss of Ramanath Rai
    2. Win of U. T Khadar.

One was sleeping in vidhana saudha and doing communal politics, other was active and helping the people in need. Good example for people will recognizing the good work irrespective of their party and religion.

I think in India…. there should be a law…. when a person contested the election and lost…they should not be re-elected as MLC and hold any ministerial berth… It should be applicable to Central too…. Take the example of MNS or Jaitely!!! Rejected by people but still holds Ministry!!!
