Konkans Ireland, Dublin celebrates Nativity fest

Dublin, Sep 10: Konkans Ireland, Dublin celebrated Monthi Fest (nativity of Mother Mary) on Saturday September 9 at 10 am at St Paul’s youth club.

In preparation of Monthi Fest 9 days of Novena was held to venerate Mother Mary with flowers in residences.

The celebration commenced with blessings of the new crop, which was brought all the way from our homeland, followed with the mass by Fr Suresh. All the members participated in the mass devoutly and sang hymns. Jeevan and Jasmine lead the Choir during the Mass.

After the mass all the members of the group venerated Our Lady with flowers and the hymn ‘Moriyek hogolsiyan’. The childrens also sang Happy Birthday Mama Mary.

A brief cultural program was arranged after the Holy Eucharist, which was compered by Roshan and Rosita. Many children showed their stage talents like dancing and singing to entertain the audience.

Konkan’s Ireland as a family enjoyed the traditional Novem Jevan with vegetarian dishes followed by vorn. This delicious lunch prepared by Gregory Sequeira and Lilly Sequeira.

All the group members enjoyed the event with games for all ages and baila dances. At the end Archana gave a vote of thanks to all the members for participating Monthi Feast and also thanked the priests for celebrating the mass.

At the end of the day everybody returned home with a smile on their faces and sweet memories.
