Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Mar 18: J R Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru south constituency on Saturday, March 18 praised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his balanced and people-friendly budget and said that he had never seen such a visionary and progressive budget all his life.

Addressing a press meet at the district congress office he said, "A seperate fund of Rs 50 crore has been allocated for Indians returning unemployed from Gulf countries. As chairman of the NRI forum, I had requested for the formation of NRI corporation on the lines of Department of Non-resident Keralites Affairs (NORKA) and submitted a study report in the assembly. Showing concern, the government has assured us of granting fund for the same. Its good times for NRIs. I would like to thank the CM on behalf of the entire NRI community".

"According to state budget, district Wenlock hospital will be upgraded as a regional hospital. Earlier, we had regional hospital in Mysuru only. A sum of Rs 35.69 crore has been allocated for a planetarium in Pilikula. I would like to thank former MLA N Yogish Bhat for his contribution in the ambitious project. We are planning to inaugurate the planetarium by the end of this year," he added.

Mayor Kavita Sanil, district Congress interim president Ibrahim Kodijal and others were present.

CJ Baptist, This fund is for all NRI, not for his community people only! Please do not mislead on good work done by honest politicians! Few weeks back I heard JRL replying a question on support to NRI entrepreneurship..., JRL advised the person to come to him or his office and he can go and meet every needy!!

Thank you CM sir and Lobo sir ! There are many Gulf returnees, who lose their job and return empty handed. Many return due to illness. Being sole bread winner, the family find no way out, rejected by even close friends and relatives. I was one of the the victims of Gulf, returned losing job due to bankruptcy of our company and have experienced what life really is without income. A detailed elaboration on Daiji relating to who is eligible and what are the terms and condition of this project will be very helpful. God bless you CM sir and Lobo sir for this great arrangement.

Indeed a very kind gesture on the part of the chief minister to accept the recommendations made by people concerned and and allot a sum Rupees fifty crores towards welfare of NRI's returning to India particularly from Gulf Countries without jobs. This would not have been possible unless a good case was made towards this funding by Mr. J.R. Lobo who has all along been a PEOPLE-FRIENDLY PERSON.

Thank you Mr. J R Lobo and CM of Karnataka, Please use this fund to help those NRIs who returned to India after working abroad as domestic helpers or low paying jobs and could not support their families or children's education , suffering serious health issues , have loans to pay for securing a visa from agent and hearing everyday from people -" you worked so many years in gulf ,still crying and could not make anything, see your neighbor who built a 4 bedroom house , a decent car just staying in India . etc.

I am returned from gulf. Now I have no job on hand. How to take benefit of this scheme. Are they providing any loan with laser interest rate if we are willing to start some business or self employment. Kindly clarify.... I wish govt should not distribute this money to someone for silly reason. No need money without any hard work.
