Ahalia Hospital receives first HAAD JAWDA Award

Abu Dhabi, Jun 9: As part of its continuous ongoing initiative to quantitatively improve health care quality and patient safety at healthcare facilities in the region, Health Authority (HAAD) has initiated JAWDA healthcare quality awards for the first time. HAAD launched this award at a grand ceremony attended by prof Maha Taysir Barakat, director general along with other dignitaries from HAAD during the 4th annual patient safety congress that was conducted here from May 23 to May 25.

Ahalia Hospital, in the city has received the first JAWDA awards in category – timeliness of care. This award was based on an overall composite score calculated using waiting time performance data collected last year and covers all specialized and general hospitals in the Emirate (Abu Dhabi and Al Ain) that have been fully operational for at least a year.

The award was received by Dr V R Anil Kumar, medical director, Ahalia Hospital. “This coveted appreciation makes us really proud and humble and it is indeed an appreciation to our quality of care that we have been rendering since 1984,” Dr Anil Kumar said. Ahalia Hospital is part of Ahalia Medical Group which operates all over UAE and is popular for its patient friendly staff and trusted doctors among the expats and local population.
